The win put HBL level on points with State Bank with UBL still leading Group A.
After electing to bat first, State Bank laboured to 106 for seven in their 20 overs. Opener Ramiz Raja Junior made 26, while Usman Saeed scored 25. Rizwan Haider’s cameo of 27 gave his side something to bowl at.
In reply, HBL lost Imran Farhat (5) and Fahad Masood were dismissed early but Asad (27), Behram Khan (27) and Hasan Raza (26) steered the team past the finish line.
Humayun Farhat then provided the much-needed acceleration at the end, hammering an eight-ball 20 to take the team past the victory target.
