Lyari violence: Two kutchis killed, three others wounded

Following the incident, Kutchi Rabita community members staged a protest and shouted slogans against Lyari gangsters.

KARACHI: Commercial activities remained suspended in Lyari as two more Kutchis were killed and three others were wounded on Friday.

The deceased were identified as Abdul Karim, 30, son of Hashim, and Zubair Kutchi, 29, and the injured included Usman Kutchi.

They were taken to the Karachi Civil Hospital for autopsy and medical treatment.

Following the incident, Kutchi Rabita community members staged a protest and shouted slogans against Lyari gangsters.

Extra contingent of law enforcers, however, arrived and dispersed the protesters.

Police officials said that the incident took place when the victims were sitting outside their homes and unidentified culprits resorted opened fire at them.

Hussain Kutchi said that more people were leaving their homes and migrating to other parts of the city or province following continuous threats and attacks by Lyari gangsters.

“Shame on the provincial government and law enforcement agenciesm,” he said. “The gangsters are attacking our men and homes but nobody from the government and LEAS ready to do something for us.”
