Altaf Hussain and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) are being targeted through an organised conspiracy, the Deputy Convener of MQM 's Rabita Committe Maqbool Siddique said in a press conference on Thursday, Express News reported.

The Rabita Committee's reaction came after the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) aired a documentary on MQM chief Altaf Hussain, his alleged use of threatening language in public speeches, a purported letter which offers services to the UK intelligence agencies and seizing of large sums of money from the MQM office in Edgware and Altaf's house.

Siddique said that ‘foreign media’ had shown irresponsible behavior by releasing a dubious documentary on the MQM, and that the Rabita Committee still had full confidence in Altaf’s leadership.

"The BBC showed clips of some parts of Altaf Hussain's speeches out of context. We condemn this."

He said that the false propaganda had only managed to increase their confidence in the MQM chief as their leader, and that their ties with the party's founder could not be disrupted through such means.

In a press conference, leaders of the MQM Raabta Committee said that they held the right for peaceful protest.

Earlier today, London Metropolitan Police said that an investigation is being carried out against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain on charges of money laundering and provocation to torture.

Note: A BBC Online exclusive story on Altaf Hussain cases by Owen Benett Jones to appear shortly.

@arzal ahmed: Leave it to the MQM supporters to make everything racist. It's about time we all learned to accept one another and be united instead of being hateful. We have been blessed with a country that is so diverse and rich in culture, language and foods. Why can't we all just embrace our differences instead of bad mouthing the sindhis, the punjabis, the balochis, the muhajirs or whoever. We are suppose to be one country! This can not be a "conspiracy" if there is any truth to it. The money was fabricated in AH's house...the MQM has admitted to money being found in the house. AH did deliver hate speech, any competent lawyer can tell you it's a clear violation of British law. So what is this conspiracy that MQM talks of?

MQM is a terrorist organisation and everybody including Mohajirs know this. There has been a concentrated effort on the usurpation of the native people's rights.i.e Sindhis by the so called Mohajirs, helped by Punjabis and Pathans. The only oppressed nations in Pakistan are Sindhis and Balochs, rest of them are paying the price what they sown.
