ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan left for the United Kingdom on Monday.

A PTI leader told The Express Tribune that Imran is accompanied by his political advisor Naeemul Haq.

Imran will get a medical checkup in London and spend some time with his sons, sources said. He will also meet his ex-wife Jemima Khan in the United Kingdom, added the sources.

The sources further said he will take up the issue of PTI leader Zehra Hussain’s murder with the British government.

This will be Imran’s first visit to any country since his party emerged as the second most popular party in terms of votes in the May 11 general elections.

Imran will return to Pakistan on July 20 and will resume his political activities. PTI President Javed Hashmi and PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi will be looking after the party affairs in Imran’s absence.

Wrong timings. He will be missing July 12 terror conference and will show up afterwards with barrage of criticism that conference should have done this or that. Our national political leaders should realize when they need to be in the country and participate in crucial decisions. Let’s forget Zardari, who has never available in Pakistan, but it does include Nawaz Sharif too whose past history been missing at crucial moments.

No doubt he needs treatment but it would have been better to leave after APC it was high time for him to give his candid views. On the other hand same will happen as pointed out by Mr Saleem. What to say about LOTA IBN E LOTA Shah mamood qureshi. More over is Jemima his family? So far his sons are concerned they could have visited any time in past three months.

for all ill-informed readers , as usual your banters only exhibit your very own ignorance. IK was the first one who proposed to have an APC right after the election. go back and read the papers as well as social media news. PTI proposed the APC with Army on borad as well but no one seemed interested. Why PML-N took 60 days to have the APC, why not straight away. sure! you’ll have your excuses.

@Kashif Younis Meher: He has a broken spine. that is not akin to holidaying. when you get ill or break your bone you don’t enjoy time-off. You recuperate! You try to get well so you could then get on with your daily life routine.

@SB: IK also divorced his wife because he wanted to make people realize that they could make Pakistan a prosperous place for their generations. if his family was more important, as suggested by couple of readers, then he wouldn’t’ have joined the politics. he could have stayed in England and enjoyed all the material things he had. if you have kids you would know what i mean. Nobody wants to stay away from their kids, no matter what. He is over 60 years, ask your family members who are 60, ask them what are they doing for the country?

Now then, how bad can the injuries be of IK that he cannot find an Orthopedic Doctor of repute in Pakistan?

For the record, IK has already raised serious question mark on the health care facilities of Pakistan by getting orthopedic treatment administered at a cancer hospital which was made by HIM and treated by doctors hired by HIM.

Imran is not a UK national as per his own admission. People with dual nationality are not allowed to contest the election which he has.

Having said that he has every right to go visit his kids and also get the best treatment that he can afford. Wish him a speedy recovery from across the border. I just hope that he is not so judgmental when his political opponents go abroad for treatment.

The people who have raised an issue with the timing do have a point. With the APC on terror so close by, he will miss this and later reserve the right to criticize because he was not present.
