Nawaz revealed this while speaking to the media from China on Sunday.
Thanking the Chinese authorities for their overwhelming response, Nawaz said all the projects – when completed – will be of great benefit to the people of Pakistan.
He asked the nation to pray that these schemes materialise soon and that no untoward incident cause a setback.
Stressing on the need to immediately end the ongoing power crisis, the prime minister said violence and power issues are linked and must be addressed simultaneously.
During his time in China, Nawaz called upon Chinese investors to invest in Pakistan, particularly in the energy sector.
The premier emphasised that the new government in Pakistan was pro-business and investment-friendly.
As part of an effort to boost the annual trade volume between the two countries from $12 billion to $20 billion, leaders from both countries had agreed to construction of economic and industrial cities in Gawadar and other parts of Pakistan.
They had reached agreements over the establishment of trade corridors and railway links as well as in the area of power development.

@LI NING: I love china too, dont worry most of the abusive replies to you are from Indians....ET is very popular with indians
Good Luck for Pakistan, I wish all your great people have a good future.
Good Luck for Pakistan, I wish all your great people have a good future! blessing from Chinese.
@Shan: So what wrong with this? Since inception, we tried our best to sell it to America but the results are not fruitful. Now we are trying China. Actually we are not capable of running this country by ourselves.
The way things are going. China will take over Pak soon.
@Pakistani - "China and Pakistan are true friends"
... Unless we blow u guys for following the wrong religion or no religion at all... LOL
And what abt Uighur Muslims (ur brothers) routinely suppressed by your friends?
Involving china in every deal is just like allowing them to dictate us.
@Muhammad Rizwan Ali:
"Good Luck for Pakistan, my all Chinese friends are very happy, they feel that in few years Pakistan will be like China."
Good ask your Chinese friends to send $30B free aid to Pakistan to help Pakistan overcome its serious deficit and debt issues and help finance energy projects.
What he meant is China sell, Pakistan buy
To all china haters here Your factories are closing for 20 hr load shedding, blame it on china too!
Manufacturing needs electricity, roads and transportation to distribute them efficiently.
China is only country right now willing to do multi billion dollars capital investments in Pakistani infrastructure, name anyone else. Capital investment in infrastructure is most vital in building manufacturing base.... that is what chinese themselves did in 80 and 90s and they are reaping the reward now.
So if yu dont like china just appreciate them what they still willing to do , just for being pragmatic.
For My Indian Friends, "Mehnat Karo , Hassad Nahee".
@Asif: To me, you also look like an Indian troll, Very dissapointed.
@Rumormonger: Oh my god pakistan is going to become super power with in 90 days like Imran khan says..
@LI NING: 谢谢 I appreciate.
Just came back from a 10-day visit from Shanghai, China. I have not seen such affluence, even in Houston, Texas as I saw in Shanghai. The Chinese have really turned their country around by 180 degrees and progressing to become the next economic super-power. Even of 25% of these projects get completed 100%, there will be a big change in Pakistan in the next few years. I am no fan of Nawaz league, but I wish them all the success for the good of this country.
@Umer:
(请原谅我的英语不好。Please forgive my English is not good.)Maybe you're right, but all things are done by the Chinese government,I feel ashamed for it。The majority of Chinese see Pakistan as the world's best friend, and we hope Pakistan can become a rich, strong and prosperous country 。
In addition to the Foreign Cell the Defence Cell Now the China Cell ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ To come: Amreeka Cell Turkiya Cell UK Cell.........quite a battery.
Selling your sovereignty to china a country that stabbed india and will do the same to pakistan Mr Shareef is selling his country and some thick minds are happy
@ET ET should stop posting comments of Umar which are full of hatred and provincialism.
LI NING 我来之中国广东省,很高兴你们的总理访问中国。巴基斯坦是中国真正的朋友,祝愿巴基斯坦的明天越来越美好。I love Pakistan. Li, you from guangdong province?..I from beijing. I love pakistan to that is why i come very long. We both come together because we both love pakistan.
LI NING I come from China, I love Pakistan.
Me Too. I from china, i come too for pakistan lovingly. I like to come again for pakistan.
At least the intentions appear noble. I wish for whatever is good for our country. Good luck my fellow countrymen.

Its high time to confiscate assets of these so called democratic leaders; only a common man can bring real democracy
Good job Mr. Prime Minister, now let's all work together to realize this dream. The projects are very ambitious and need dedication and commitment from both sides to be successful.
Cheapest way to colonise Pakistan..... Threaten India and whisper sweet sound bites to Pakistan such as taller than deeper than, sweeter than, tighter than etc
China celLOL...
@LI NING:
… and you should. What other country allows China to plunder its valuable resources like Punjabis (majority of Pakistanis) do? You take away our high quality marble from KPK region and copper from Baluchistan and make useful money earning products in Chinese factories to export to the world and to keep Chinese people employed, but you never set-up factories in Pakistan to help us make money out of our own resources and to tackle unemployment at home. You also give us junk called JF-17 which no country in the world including China would consider for its Air force.
Really you should love us idiots even more; we are making you prosperous at the cost of our own poverty for the sake of you Chinese people. Who apart from Punjabis in the whole wide would do that?
Is china opened "Pakistan cell" in Chinese PM office in return gesture ! A big NO !
@Shan: Come out with your real name now. Singh, Sharma or Patel. Whatever. Enough is enough.
We can able to hear that pakistan policy will be determined not in Islamabad, but in Beijing. They will dictate our policy ,shame.
All the projects are to support Lahore including motorway and the bullet train to. This means only Lahore will continue to prosper as before. What about bullet trains between Karachi and Peshawar with a branch line to Quetta? Why is it that all the resources come from the three smaller provinces but are only used to support Lahore only and the three smaller provinces are left poor and underdeveloped?
We all love China. .
I am Pakistani from Shenzhen,China, really we are now entering in new era with the help of China, best wishes for Nawaz Sharif, he really look sincere with Pakistan. Good Luck for Pakistan, my all Chinese friends are very happy, they feel that in few years Pakistan will be like China.
Whole Pakistan is China cell.
@Shan: Heavy smoke coming from our Eastern Border, could somebody check please what is burning over there ??? Lols
Nawaz Sharif will set up a dedicated “China Cell” to imprison all those who disobey ORDERS from China.
Nawaz Sharif should make good his vision and set up people to people direct connections, at the village, city and the town level and at the school and the university level. It is important the cltural exchanges are made so that more understanding with more communication is realze.
Rex Minor
Might as well induct a Chinese minister in your own cabinet.
Perhaps its just me, but isn't the workings of the 'China Cell' a bit vague? Will it for example, facilitate Pakistani exports to China, both in volume and in value ? Will it seek to protect Pakistani industries from (subsidised) competing Chinese products ? All that is apparent from the article is that the cell will concentrate on ensuring the completion of the recently concluded agreements with China (the USD 18 billion tunnel etc).
As an Indian poster Vectra pointed out in an earlier ET article on this subject, the tunnel will benefit China far more than Pakistan. It will provide a cheap conduit for Chinese exports to their captive Pakistani market; it will provide a cheap conduit for Chinese exports to Europe & the Middle East via Gwadar (this will be the most important advantage of the tunnel - it will greatly cut the China - Europe transport costs); it is very likely, based on press reports so far, that the Pakistani side have not considered these benefits to China and have consequently neglected to charge them for anywhere near the full value of these savings.
It would seem that Sharif & Co are ideal Pakistani agents for the benefit of foreign entities (China & India). And sadly, Pakistanis who point out these obvious points are regarded as unpatriotic or feeble-minded and are brushed under the carpet.
It is a sad point that pakistan totally sold to china for few bugs..
could anyone please enlighten me. Does the Pakistan PM also have a Baluchistan Cell or a FATA cell in his office?
Translation @ LI NING
I came from the Chinese Guangdong province, I'm glad your Prime Minister visit China. Pakistan is China's true friend, I wish more and more beautiful tomorrow for Pakistan.
Thanks Mr. LI NING
Ok energy and economic projects kicked off, good. now turn to terrorism and boot it out of Pakistan
@LI NING: We Love you 2 Mr. Li
GOOD,MIAN SAHIB,everything is possible just first clear or identify snakes in your sleeves because these pat snakes will bite you first, control and watch those bureaucrats who are spoiler and master in technical delays, tell your Arab friends to stop their masters who interfere in our matter through them.As Americans/EU/NATO kicked us and gone all out for India against our wishes so tell USA/UK/NATO/GCC that they should not interfere in our affairs we have served them enough at our cost.
I come from China, I love Pakistan
So how do they choose the people that run these projects/ i'm sure theres some ministerial oversight but really these projects will be run as independent enterprises. is there some way that one can approach the government or this "china cell" to seek out a position in some project or is it basically done without any transparency and relatives and friends of the people in charge are appointed?
Follow up on these agreements thoroughly and we'll elect you again.
Ring ring - ring ring
Pak PM House (China Cell): Yes Sir.. Sir..This is Nawaz.. The PM here.. but I cant hear you properly.
PA to Chinese Deputy Asst Secretary for South Asia: Whats wrong with the phone and line Nawaz..? Its brand new.
Pak PM House: Sir.. we used your equipment and lines
PA to Chinese Deputy Astt Sec: Oh... That is the deeper than oceans and sweeter than sugar phone equipment company ... Dont worry.. next time..we give you a new one.. higher than K2 and stronger than steel..
I extend my warmest greetings to Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister of Pakistan and Chinese President Xi Jinping on having mutual understanding between the two governments to undertake and complete various projects in Pakistan.
The utmost priority is in the energy sector.
If Chinese Comapnies can invest in the energy sector, it can produce electricity and can illuminate the entire Pakistan which for many many years is under load-shedding.
I know it very well that People's Republic of China is producing adequate energy for its citizens and at the same time the tariff of residential, commercial and industrial electricity is very cheap comparing to the various electric tariff in Pakistan.
To win the hearts and minds of the people of Pakistan, Chinese Government should not only invest in the power sector, but also provide electricity on the cheaper rates so that people living in Karachi should get rid off from KESC and in Punjab from WAPDA and from NEPRA once and for all.
Mian Nawaz Shariff is bent upon in eradicating the menace of corruption from Pakistan and it is necessary that Pakistanis should get rid off from the corrupt people and the managements working in energy sector in Pakistan.
Thats a great beginning ... Wish you all the best ... if you completed these project, you will be our Hero and my 2018 vote confirm for you ....
PM seems serious about these projects and I hope he succeeds because we are tired of promises and Pak can't suffer anymore. Also if these projects need to materialize, terrorism should be the next target.
