KARACHI:

Forced evacuations and gun battle between two groups in Lyari have turned the areas from Ali Muhammad Muhalla to Mirza Adam Khan Road ideal for those interested in capturing the impact of violence in post-conflict societies. Documentary makers from various media organisations and institutions headed to Lyari on on Saturday.

They were trying to speak to members of the Kutchi community as they filmed vacant streets and empty houses in the area. The reporters eagerly captured in their cameras houses and shops that had been robbed or set on fire in Rahimabad, Mandra Mohalla, alFalah Road and Bihar Colony.

The documentary makers were also anxious to cover the lucky ones, whose houses were safe, and who were still living in different community centres of Agra Taj Colony.

Karachiites were yelling from the beginning to take suo moto notice of the confession of distribution of 300,000+ automatic weapon licenses to commit murder and loot (and not to be used at weddings).

Red wine at Islamabad airport is more important than red blood on the streets of Karachi for the establishment. There is no way that a banned organization that did not exist before 2008 can operate in the largest city of Pakistan without the support of the you-know-who. These "strategic assets" will soon be out of their control, just a heads up!
