President appoints Abdul Rauf Chaudhry as Federal Tax Ombudsman

The four year tenure of Muhammad Shoaib Suddle expired on June 2.

ISLAMABAD: Acting on the advice of the Prime Minister, President Asif Ali Zardari on Saturday appointed Abdul Rauf Chaudhry as the Federal Tax Ombudsman.

A release from the President's office said that Chaudhry has been appointed for a period of four years.

A summary from the Ministry of Law, Justice and Human Rights stated that the tenure of Chaudhry's predecessor, Muhammad Shoaib Suddle, expired on June 2.

The ministry had recommended the prime minister to advise Zardari to appoint Chaudhry for the post as he was the most suitable person.

Tell me what skills does he bring on table to be a Federal Tax Ombudsman? He was Federal Secretary in different ministries and that is it

Mateen | 11 years ago | Reply The job of the Federal Tax Ombudsman is also to unearth the black sheep's and plug the holes from where the revenue which is suppose to come in the government's kitty, goes directly in the pockets of Income Tax Officials. I am just reminding Mr. Abdul Rauf Chaudhry that this is also one of his basic duties. Let's see how much money Mr. Abdul Rauf Chaudhry can recover from the tax evaders and what extra amount will be able to deposit in the government's account?

A person who's reputation is not good holding top executive position. This is a violation of the constitution and a shame for SC-CJ closing his eyes and working under the table with the president. The people will now teach you what a real law implies.
