Four Constituencies: PTI asks chief justice to order re-count

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Punjab President Ejaz Chaudhry on Thursday urged Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry to order a re-count of ballots with verification of thumb impressions in four constituencies. Chaudhry alleged that over 21,200 bogus ballot papers had been cast in PP-184 Kasur. Punjab Assembly Speaker Rana Iqbal had won from this constituency, defeating PTI candidate Rana Aslam by 16,000 votes. In PP-175, the PTI candidate was defeated by Muhammad Yaqoob Nadeem of PML-N by 3,000 votes. Chaudhry alleged that 22,800 bogus ballot papers were used to help Nadeem win the election. Chaudhary said massive rigging had occurred during general elections. He requested the chief justice to order a re-count of votes and verification of thumb impressions in at least four constituencies.
