Nawaz is expected to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping today to discuss new policies for Pakistan.
He will also meet Chinese companies to discuss the underground transport system in Pakistan.
It was earlier reported that the prime minister will be requesting China’s help for a number of projects to overcome the energy crisis in Pakistan.
This is Nawaz's first international visit since he took oath as the prime minister. An official dinner has been arranged in Beijing in honour of the premier.

I don't think visit to be more fruitful because of 1. China pilgrims attacked in Pakistan 2. recent muslim riot in China. these are drawbacks of Pakistan but lets see.
China is not a country that will deliver any freebies, public must temper their expectations to avoid disappointment. China needs raw materials and they will calculate the trade offs based on the volumes of raw materials they can extract. Of course they will want to export their own capital equipment too. Very few have made money by doing business with the Chinese, I doubt Pakistani businessmen are smarter than those in the rest of the world. This relationship should not become one of slavery.
We will support anyone who helps fix Pakistan; the PPP government did nothing other than talk, play politics and loot. They knew it was their last chance in government so they did what robbers do.
@roadkashehzada: and what about "our strategic DEPTH" ?
@MA: China needs pakistan only because to conduct a proxy war against India.
@Haris Chaudhry: He represents Pakistan and should wear Pakistan's official dress, which is not a suit and tie. The Chinese premier addressed Pakistan's National Assembly in Chinese. He could also do so in English but He deliberately didn't do so. Zardari sahib, on the other hand, delivered his speech in English.
I am Pakistani living in Shenzhen,China, The Chinese people love Pakistani people so much, and are real brother,I feel very comfortable here, This is right and good time for NS to get some Power problems assistant, and many other projects, After Allah, Chinese is only hope for Pakistan.
You all may call it whatever you like-----for me------ this reflects boggling of Mian's mind and his immediate need to escapdes-----it has only just begun!
Yawn!
China needs Pakistan. China is turning itself into a consumer-led economy from export-led economy. China, the biggest lender to US govt in terms of holding US treasuries, is investing heavily in Africa. From roads to factories, conusmer financing. you name it and China is doing it. Gawadar port will cut short the journey as well as become cost effficient for Chinese products to reach its consumers. Standard Chartered, Barclays and HSBC have already established their regional offices in South Africa to benefit from the African economic boom.
china needs to develop its mineral rich western region which is closer to gawadar port than chinese ports.an opportunity for us to exploute our "strategic location"
we expect next visit to India to improve peace we have offered them electricity
For God's sake NS, ask your cabinet to wear dark coloured tailored suits with white shirts and decent ties ! It is embarrassing to watch super large sized politicians with scary moustaches and untrimmed facial hair, brown suits and floral ties - that was the hallmark of most of the federal cabinet with each of Zardari's visit !
@BILAL: Have you given him a bag where he can bring electricity in it?
Good going Nawaz. The nation will be happy with you if this is the ultimate five years in the history of Pakistan that our government is asking for aid. Salams
This time Mian Sahib is going to wonders for Pakistan.
He seems to be too serious in solving problems of the masses.
May Al-Mighty Allah be always with you. Ameen.
Mr Nawaz Sharif, I am die-hard PTI supporter, and voted against your party in the elections. However, now that you have won, and have formed government, I fully support you in the challenges that you are going to face in running this country. I hope for the sake of this country that you deliver, and complete your 5 years in government, otherwise (god forbid) there is no turning back. The people too have had enough, they want a better living standard, better than that which the previous government gifted to them. We support you, as the people have also said no to dictators and yes to democrats. Make this country a beacon of light. Whatever you desire from us, we will give. Goodluck and Godspeed.
Please bring some electricity back home, Not Dollars :)
