China calling: Nawaz Sharif leaves for 5-day official visit
Prime minister to meet Chinese president, local companies to discuss various projects.
ISLAMABAD:
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif departed from Islamabad on Wednesday for a five-day official visit to China.
Nawaz is expected to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping today to discuss new policies for Pakistan.
He will also meet Chinese companies to discuss the underground transport system in Pakistan.
It was earlier reported that the prime minister will be requesting China’s help for a number of projects to overcome the energy crisis in Pakistan.
This is Nawaz's first international visit since he took oath as the prime minister. An official dinner has been arranged in Beijing in honour of the premier.
