LAHORE: Additional District and Sessions Judge Safdar Ali Bhatti sought comments from Ghaziabad SHO by July 9 on a petition seeking action against Salman Butt, the former captain of Pakistan Cricket Team who recently confessed to spot fixing. Ghulam Ali has filed the petition, saying that the public viewed cricketers as heroes. They are paid handsomely by the Government of Pakistan to represent the country. The money they are paid, he said, is the taxpayer’s money. Butt, he said, had cheated the nation first by getting involved in spot fixing and then by lying about it. Ali said he had approached the SHO concerned to register an FIR against Butt he did not. He prayed the court to direct the SHO to register a criminal case against Butt.
