‘Poisoned’ food: Judicial inquiry kicks off

MAILSI: The Vehari sessions judge on Tuesday recorded the statements of several people as part of a judicial inquiry into the incident in which 22 people died after consuming what is believed to be poisoned food. Around 25 servants, who worked at a farmhouse owned by an MPA, and their families had to be taken to hospital on June 13 after they had dinner. Police have been unable to determine whether or not it was a case of deliberate poisoning. The chief minister had taken notice of the incident and ordered a judicial inquiry.
