Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif Monday night assuring him of support for the ongoing polio eradication drive happening in the country, Radio Pakistan reported.
In response, PM Sharif expressed strong resolve on his government's part to eradicate polio from Pakistan and welcomed the offer.
Gates assured him of support from Bill Gates and Melinda Foundation.
Earlier, Gates had contacted Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan, seeking his assistance in eradicating polio from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
Gates had expressed confidence that the new government in Pakistan would focus on the immunisation and eradication of fatal diseases including polio.

Bill Gates is urging our leaders to help "him" eradicate polio from Pakistan. This must be a part of conspiracy against our land of pure, not! Why are our leaders not approaching these philanthropists of the world? Is Gates a bigger human being than our own leaders?
How come only US AID comes for this kind of humanity projects while no such AID is received either by China or other brotherly countries like KSA?
Bill Gates is willing to dedicate his money and admirable efforts to eradicating polio in Pakistan. India has succeeded, where Gates was also a player. Pakistan can achieve the same success, but the real obstacle to eradication is not the generosity from Gates or others - what is needed is a strong resolve on the government of Pakistan to provide security and safety for all of the polio workers in Pakistan. Not surprisingly, some brainwashed idiots have targeted polio workers under the false pretense the workers are administering infertility shots, not polio vaccinations. What kind of people are these? Do they categorize all assistance as the work of "imperialist powers"? Solving their mental state of mind is one issue, but right now, the government of Pakistan needs to guarantee the safety of polio workers first.

To eradicate Polio in Pakistan,first Bill Gates should don an Iron Man suit and destroy all those Taliban dens and then allow the workers to deliver the vaccine....
