Negotiations with MQM still on: CM

Rhe CM laid chaddar and offered fateha at the shrine and later distributed clothes among the poor women.

HYDERABAD:

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah said that negotiations with the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) over joining the government were still taking place but it would be premature to speculate over the outcome.

“The talks began right after the election results were announced and the Pakistan Peoples Party was declared the winner in Sindh,” he said while talking to the media at the concluding ceremony of the three-day urs at Hazrat Lal Shahbaz Qalandar’s shrine in Sehwan on Sunday.

Responding to a question about the recent allegation by an MQM MNA that the Sindh government patronised criminal elements in Karachi, Shah said that it was unfortunate that such a comment was made. He added that his party refrained from levelling accusations at any particular political party.

Accompanied by MPA Owais Muzaffar, Sikandar Shoro and others, the CM laid chaddar and offered fateha at the shrine and later distributed clothes among the poor women. He also inspected the ongoing beautification work and visited the medical camps set up outside the shrine. “It’s taking longer because we want to ensure quality work unlike the substandard work in the past.”
