PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister Pervez Khattak expressed his displeasure with the provincial bureaucracy saying that his directives are not being followed.

Speaking at the K-P Assembly, Khattak warned bureaucrats to not consider the government weak.

“I am not satisfied with the bureaucracy,” he said, adding that the government is very serious about what they plan to do as they have a big mandate.

Khattak warned the 'baboos' to deliver on his directives within a week or else face consequences.

The DG health was asked to submit his report over fake medicines within 10 days.

Talking about the deteriorating law and order situation, he said, "The police had been directed to work on the incidents related to target killings and kidnappings."

Khattak said such incidents needed to be reduced or else the involved police officials will not stay in the province.

He announced that an intelligence outfit in the police department would be established saying that preemptive measures need to be taken to avoid terrorists attacks.

“We should arrest them before they attack us," he said.

The K-P chief minister said that his government will pass a law on conflict of interest, disallowing lawmakers to do business as they are in a position to influence laws.

Aside from setting up an independent accountability commission, a third party validation system will be introduced to ensure transparency. Khattak said that it will serve under this commission and it will not have police personnel who are presently working with anti-corruption.

“It will be a powerful and independent commission,” he said.

Khattak stated that teachers will not be transferred in K-P.

"Teachers will retire at the same school where they were appointed,” he said.

The government will provide health care on emergency basis and the public sector hospitals have been asked to provide a list of things they need by July15, he said.

Khattak said transparency would be introduced in land transactions based on Jhang model till the record of the revenue department is computerized.

The K-P chief minister suggested the idea of starting 4000-5000 megawatts electricity projects within three to four months saying that there are investors who are here to invest on the promise of zero corruption and security.

Khattak asked lawmakers to give him time till July 30 to start coming true on his promises.

“Teachers will retire at the same school where they were appointed,” he said.

Mr. CM make sure that you put a ban of female teachers getting married out out of their city or village, other wise it would not be possible for them to commute to the school after getting married and moving to another place.
