Violence: Four die in shooting incidents

Political tehsildar of the area said that a mentally challenged Said Rasul had a scuffle with his brother.

BARA: Two tribesmen, including a commander of the banned militant outfit Lashkar-e-Islam (LeI), were killed during an exchange of fire in the Miri Khel area of Bara in Khyber Agency, on Saturday.

Political tehsildar of the area, Naik Muhammad said that a mentally challenged Said Rasul had a scuffle with his brother in the house over a family dispute. As a result, his brothers had complained to the members of the banned outfit LeI regarding the fight. He further said that militants from LeI came to resolve the issue, but Rasul opened fire, killing Wali, one of LeI’s commanders. Rasul and another passerby were killed in retaliatory fire by LeI men.

Meanwhile, a tribesman Hidayat was killed and four others Yousaf Khan, Samiullah, Taj Muhammad and Muhammad Arshad were arrested during a search operation launched by the security forces in the Shakas area of Jamrud Teshil on Saturday night.
