The PTI will discuss its strategy for local government elections at its Punjab chapter convention in Islamabad on June 30, party officials said. PTI chief Imran Khan will chair the convention.
The party’s Punjab chapter has prepared a report on the recent general elections highlighting its weaknesses and making recommendations for the selection of candidates and campaign strategy for local polls, said PTI Punjab President Ejaz Chaudhry. The report was compiled after meetings with district and regional party officials, he said.
According to the 10-point report, the PTI Punjab chapter felt that the party’s losses at several national and provincial seats were a result of ‘massive rigging’, inexperienced candidates, and, intriguingly, Imran Khan’s fall from a forklift just days before the polls. It also observed that the holding of party elections just before the general polls left little time to interview candidates and for ticket-holders to launch their campaigns.

: Please Sir, allow PTI some time, lets be realistic PMLN and PPP had shared a decade of governance between them and any change if any envisioned had remained elusive in fact the it worsened. PTI had just assumed governance in KPK please have patience
@ibrahim:
And what Public Office is Imran Khan holding in KPK by virtue of which he is entitled to "Introducing those laws in KPK which will be followed by other countries." Imran Khan talks about empowerment but yet he is unconstitutionally running the state of affairs in KPK via remote control. Nonsense!
Agreed with the identified causes of PTI losses in Punjab. No use lamenting over it. Now the important thing is what has PTI learned from the mistakes it made and how to forge ahead. PTI has a great chance still to because a dynamic instrument of change if it is able to give KPK a stable and prosperous future. The nation is waiting to see the PTI manifestos of change in KPK. If it is able to deliver this there is no looking behind. If it fails it would fade away as quickly as it has emerged.
@haroon: Yeah thats what he said, if you taken the time to read two paragraphs maybe you could have learned something new.
kpk is bringing tough competition among provinces.Imran is introducing those laws in kpk which wil be followed even by other countries!
PTI should accept that they were defeated not just because of rigging but because of poor selection of candidates across Pakistan and also because intra party elections went too long and didn't leave any room for preparation for General elections.
Mr khan focus on kpk and show us change which is looking remote and accept reality in Punjab.
For GOD SAKE we need empowered local Govts not lame duck local bodies
