LAHORE:

Work on Pakistan National Quality Policy has picked up pace. The policy will deal with the way regulations for compulsory standards are implemented and will also provide guidelines on how Pakistan will organise its standards, accreditation, testing and certification services.

A workshop on the National Quality Policy was held in Lahore on Friday in which over 150 representatives of private sector stakeholders participated.

“It is encouraging to see active participation and contribution of private sector stakeholders in the development of National Quality Policy,” said Ministry of Science and Technology Secretary Akhlaq Ahmad Tarar at the workshop.

TRTA II Programme international expert Martin Kellermann said the policy was a very complex endeavour that has to take Pakistan’s realities fully into account.
