KARACHI: A worker of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) was killed in Surjani Town on Friday.

A few armed men gunned down MQM’s Qasba-Aligarh sector member, Tariq Mustafa, in Sector 5-B.

Police officials said that Mustafa was in the area for some work when at least four unidentified armed men on two motorcycle shot him multiple times in his head, chest and neck.

Mustafa’s body was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital in critical condition, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The police have said the worker might have been killed for his political affiliation, while further investigation into the case is underway.

MQM coordination committee has condemned the incident.
