Aqeel Shabbir started his Bath Island Open championship campaign with a 6-0, 6-1 win over Ali Raza in the men’s singles first round yesterday, according to information provided by the Sindh Tennis Association.
In the other men’s singles match, Khawar Agha overcame Taimoor Malik 6-4, 7-6, while Zubair Raja beat Wania Khan 6-1, 6-4 in the U17 singles first round. Meanwhile, the U15 singles first round saw Arham Fahim outplaying Ali Chegani 6-3, 6-1.
Fahim also displayed his prowess in the U11 singles first round as he defeated Daniyal Mujtaba 8-0. Chegani, his losing opponent in the U15 match, beat Ali Faisal 8-3, while Farhan Azhar won his match against Moiz Zulfiqar 8-6.
