Bukhari beat Kuwait’s Yousif Nizar Saleh 3-1, registering the convincing win with game scores of 8-11, 13-11, 11-6 and 11-9, and will now face India’s Kush Kumar, who defeated compatriot Deepak Mishra 3-2. Tayyab defeated Qatar’s Tayyab al Tamimi with scores of 12-10, 11-8, 3-11 and 11-8 and will now vie for a place in the final against top-seed Ahmad Alsaraj.
Alsaraj thrashed Pakistan’s Bilal Zakir in their quarter-final match with game scores of 11-6, 11-7 and 11-9.
In the girls U17 category, Pakistan’s Sadia Gul stunned Iran’s fifth-seed Sogol Samoodi 9-11, 11-9, 11-5 and 11-8. Gul will now contest the fifth-place playoff against Hong Kong’s Lam Wing Hei today.
Madina Zafar, who beat Japan’s Ayaka Shirashi, will feature in the ninth-place playoff against India’s Adya Advani.
