Child health: Anti-polio drive to begin on July 1

MULTAN: A three-day short interval additional dose (SIAD) campaign to administer polio drops to children under five years old will begin from July 1, Deputy District Officer (Health) Rao Amjad said on Wednesday. Amjad said the campaign would be launched in the urban areas in Multan, Shujaabad and Jalalpur Pirwala. It would be carried out in 58 union councils – 50 in Multan and four each in Shujaabad and Jalalpur Pirwala. Training sessions for the UC in charge staff were held on Tuesday and Wednesday. Amjad said three focal persons, including him, trained the staff.
