Hussain was questioned for over 48 hours by police at a west London police station. He is reportedly related to a significant Pakistani politician.
The London police though made no statement about what Hussain was asked about during his detention.
Hussain's bail lasts till September.
British police investigating the murder of exiled Pakistani politician Imran Farooq in London nearly three years ago said on Monday they had arrested a man at Heathrow airport on Monday on suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder.
The 52-year-old Iftikhar Hussain, a British citizen of Pakistani origin, was detained by counter-terrorism officers as he arrived on a flight from Canada and was taken to a West London police station, police added in a statement.
The phone sims of the suspect were taken in custody and the data collected brought some important information in the limelight.
Earlier this month, police searched two residential properties in London as part of the investigation and reportedly uncovered a money laundering scheme.

@mrs ahmed: very relevant point
Nothing will happen people. British Mi-6 have been protecting he-who-must-not-be-named for the past 20 years. An unstable economic engine of Pakistan(Karachi) is in interest of many lobbies and governments, who do not want to see Pakistan progress.
@lahori: I know right :p
@mrs ahmed: In the first place why did he go to Canada? How long the stay was? What is his profession? I am sure people have lot of questions in their minds. Just out of curiosity. I think this person has become a person of interest to the police. There must be some reason which we do not know at this time.
@ Luciferous
In London, they arrest the suspects, take their DNA, fingerprints etc and take control of their passports and then call them again when the decision has been taken to start the case. . I think he put his house and his 'relatives' house as bail bond. . Bail doesn't mean the case is weak. It means Scotland Yard needs to arrest few more people and also get paper work for the court ready.
Whose relative is this guy, apparently some famous politician? And does it implicate that politician? MQM must come clean and tell us if he is related to Altaf Bhai and must issue rejections of such assertions implicating him in the social media.
Bail till sept means there was no meat against the suspect, it is just face saving by the police. I was amazed at people who thought iftikhar hussain had any link.wny would he return to uk it is very simple that this person had nothing to hide therefore he returned.
Seems like "Muk Muka" !!
Bust the taxi driver
Expected better of London Police, nothing concrete brought before public, series of investigations leading nowhere I was hoping that the murder mystery will be solved as it didnot take place in Pakistan.
Hmm iftikhat HUSSEIN. wondering who tht siginificant relative politician is...
@wolf: wolf do not come out from your skin
The news is not very well received by many readers having a wishful thinking of conviction of MQM....
Isn't it amazing that no where on social media, mqm fans are feeling joy about the progress made by London police in resolving the mystery surrounding the murder of their "central and founding leader" Imran Farooq?
Amazing that they are usually the first one to protest anything "they perceive as against mahajirs" and don't even hesitate to take the protests to international level like protesting in London as well as writing letters to UN. But here their "central and founding member" got murdered 3 years ago, no letter, no protests as to slow pace of the investigation?
If this is not fishy, I don't know what is.
Who posted the bail and what is the bond amount and what are the conditions?
money laundering???....that changes the whole scenario !!! additional jail time along with the murder charges ! looks like life in prison - stamping license plates ! :)
