ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Tuesday postponed a commercial plot auction previously scheduled for June 27 and 28. This is the second time the civic agency has put off the planned plot auction, for which June 20 and 21 had been earmarked as the initial dates. On June 17, the PM Office had asked then CDA chairman Tahir Shahbaz to submit a brief report on back-to-back plot auctions that had been held under his tenure. The report was sought against the backdrop of the civic agency’s continuous land-selling spree to generate funds to meet its developmental and non-developmental expenditures. The CDA had planned to generate enough revenue by selling commercial plots at developed sectors including some at the Twin-City Saddar Market in Sector I-12. The CDA spokesperson said that the rescheduled auction date had not been confirmed and would be announced soon.
