WAPDA doubtful for National Games

Departments, provincial associations confirm participation.

KARACHI: All provincial Olympic associations and major departments have decided to take part in the 32nd National Games starting from June 28, with Wapda yet to make a final decision.

Army, Navy, PAF, HEC, Fata, the provincial associations of Sindh, Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan are all set to appear at the event and their contingents will start gathering in Islamabad from tomorrow.

The National Games have been issued a grant of Rs80 million and are being organised by the Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) Interim Committee, the Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) and the Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC).

“All major departments and association, are taking part in these National Games,” an interim committee official told The Express Tribune. “So far, Wapda have decided to stay away but they might be convinced to appear as there is still some time left in the event.”
