Kasuri was speaking outside the Supreme Court, after the hearing of a case against Musharraf.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, during today's National Assembly session, announced that the newly elected government will pursue a treason case against the former dictator.
Referring to the recent incidents that took place in Balochistan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Karachi since the new government took charge, Kasuri said that the people want their problems fixed and that the federal government needed to get its priorities straight.
Criticising the written response submitted by the Attorney General (AG) of Pakistan, Musharraf’s lawyer equated it to “constitutional poetry.”
The federal government according to the AG's statement wished to proceed according with the law and also take political forces in confidence through consultative process so the collective will and wisdom of the people of Pakistan is duly reflected in the process.
Musharraf could possibly face life in prison or the death penalty if he is convicted of treason. Many doubt that the army, previously the country's most powerful institution, would allow Musharraf to be convicted.

@Shahid , Your comment has reinforced my believe that nothing is going to happen ex gen. Since he is entirely different from rest of the past dictaters of Pakistan . My guru Atal jee has also appriciated his compitancy despite of being a top brass of Pak army . He sailed the Pak ship in a stormy sea and saved it from being sink in the deep sea as happened to Osama . The present elected govt. has also walked to Islamabad on the road that he laled down during his tenure . If his compulsion forced him to over ride the constitution just to deal with those who were openly challenging its supremacy by killing the innocent people all over the country and trying to enter in the NA through Red mosque . He returned there just to give respect to the constitution. His proper triel will open a pindora bow of misdeeds commited by those who are certainly responsible for the present condition of the country . SO BETTER FOLLOW THE GENTLE MAN'S ADVICE AND WORK FOR A NEW PAKISTAN !!
First need of the time, to resolve the issue attributed to the power short fall, As for as Musharraf is concerned,he is house arrest, and will remained there untill unless the last judgements on behalf of courts.

Some time I feel the government recently elected by the people of Pakistan want to draw the people's attention from the issues being faced by the common man.
Electricity is a major issue,during the election campaign leaders of the party promised with the people that they would resolve it within very short time such as six months. but it looks will remained unresolved.
Due to this, unemployment is increasing day by day,street crime at its peak,poor labourer has failed to provide meal to his faimly members starvation like circumstances are being faced by them, any change is expected in the near future?no looks impossible.
There is no security in the country extending insurgency has covered everything,ground reality needs revolutionary steps and changes in the policy.
Mr, Kasuri,Musharraf's lawyer is right in their stance when saying;
: Soon after the federal government decided to initiate a treason case against Pervez Musharraf, his lawyer Ahmed Raza Khan Kasuri advised the government to focus on its 90 day ‘honeymoon period’ and the provisions that people were waiting for like electricity, job and security.
According to my considered opinion, Musharraf's treason case is not a easy task,it is a uphill task,in fact it is pebdora box which can change ground situation which would be not favourable to the present government,
The stance, has been adopted in the early days was admireable.now the change in the stance publically not acceptable.
People of Pakistan are passing through a long dark tunnel there is no light at the end of it,the first obligation of government is ,taking out the commen man from the darkness before it may cover everything in its possesion.

First of all he was in airplane when the takeover took place completly unaware of it ,the other generals on ground brought the coup.Second 70 of the people approved the military take over at that time. 3rd if he would not have been in power at the time of 9/11 other rulers would have foolishly taken USA head on leading to same fate as Iraq, Musharraf saved Pakistan from that..4th. Musarraf tried to reign in terrorism but no politcal party realyl supported him and mind you we still don't know where this terrorism will lead us to or if ever it will end.5th Musharraf period was best economically. His only fault is being not a punjabi.

PML N is looking for trouble. Nawaz is going to proceed against a retired army general. This case will rope in other retired generals who supported Musharaf in abrogating the constitution. The Supreme Court will conveniently exonerate itself for validating the military take over and permitting the dictator to amend the constitution. The judges of the apex court have been to the moral Garam Hamam after taking oath under tge PCO therefore cannot be held accountable for their past actions. The army may not take over to defend one of their own. But will certainly turn the tables on Nawaz.

If lawmakers break laws they should get double punishment. Why is there a law for punishing people for treason?
A poor man may get punished for stealing Rs 1000 and politicians get away with stealing millions.

Why ? I want to see Musharraf tried and hanged for passing the NRO which gave us this disastrous PPP government Zardari as president. That is truly treason.
As a nation we should be willing pay any price to keep our dignity and keep our head high by upholding the constitution of our country. This culture of being above law has to end I do not care who the criminal is and it should not stop with Musharaf it is only the beginning every body should be held accountable for past 60 years for their crimes of corruption and treason against the state even if they are no longer alive to set the record straight and must recover looted money from their beneficiaries. It is sad to see Mr. Kasuri trying to justify the breaking of constitution instead he should be calling to include every one else who also played a role in it. .

Tell me if Musharraf has violated the constitution of Pakistan in 1999 and 2007, do you have any respect for the constitution of Pakistan or it is just a piece of paper which could be torned in thousand pieces as another General by the name of Zia has said so. The most prudent way is to let the Supreme Court of Pakistan decide his fate , if one recalls it was Chief Justice Muneer who had paved the road for dictatorships, and perhaps this court could put in end to future Army take overs.

Just a media stunt, Its like one bullet with two uses. First to shift media and ordinary people's focus from important issues like Budget, Taxation, Inflation, Unemployment, Poverty etc. Second to keep military generals under pressure and on negotiating table. Nothing is going to happen to Musharraf as he is BROTHER of King Abdullah. And don't forget Nawaz Sharif is also BROTHER of King Abdullah, so the common factor is brotherhood between two.

If Musharraf had done what he should have done in his eight plus years of rule instead of the feel good window dressing policies of his, the country would not have the problems to the extent, that it has today - religious extremism, a disfunctional power sector, five years of pathetic corrupt civilian governance and a collapsed juicial system.
This is very good and pertinent advice to the this government. They should enjoy the short 'honey moon' period as much as they can, especially when a conflict for a bitter 'divorce' apears to be imminent and around the corner.

kasuri will get musharraf in big trouble. he asks for difficulties for musharraf. he brought him back from comfortable life in dubai by portraying false pictures. earlier he himself asked for government wht it wanted and now he is telling to concentrate on other stuff.
