Sub-Inspector Adnan, son of Anwar Ahmed, was shot dead on Super Highway within the limits of Sacchal police. The police said that the victim was on the way to his home in Shah Faisal Colony after visiting his second wife in Gulshan-e-Maymar. When he reached the Super Highway, he came across four men trying to rob a truck driver and upon resistance he was shot multiple times, the police added. He was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
A supporter of Jamaat-e-Islami was shot dead in Sector 7-D, Surjani. The victim was identified as 30-year-old Arif Sharif. The police said that the deceased was a biryani vendor and was shot by at least two armed men while at work. He was taken to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities. In a separate incident in Surjani, a 40-year-old man was found dead in Khuda Ki Basti.
A police official said that initial investigation suggested that the victim was first kidnapped and later his body was dumped after being shot multiple times. The body was moved to Edhi morgue in Sohrab Goth for identification.
A 20-year-old factory worker, Ghulam Abbas, was shot dead in Faqira Colony, Orangi Town. The police said that the motive behind the murder has yet to be ascertianed.
A man was killed by his neighbours over a disputed plot in Malir City. The police said that Raheel Ahmed, 45, was shot dead near his home in Bakra Piri and they were on the lookout for the assailants.
