Modern initiatives: Police use mobile cinema for awareness

KARACHI: To raise awareness regarding traffic laws, the Karachi police has decided to utilise ‘mobile cinema’. At a meeting held at the central police office, Sindh IGP, Shahid Nadeem Baloch, said that the implementation of traffic laws was not possible without the active involvement of citizens. He said the mobile cinema initiative could raise traffic awareness and arrangements were underway to screen mobile cinema shows at schools, colleges and universities. At the meeting, deputy inspector general of the traffic police, Abdul Khaliq Shaikh, also spoke about the problems the traffic system was facing. Shaikh said illegal encroachments, lack of parking facilities, illegal bus terminals, lack of zebra crossings, lane marking and stop lights on the road were some of the reasons that traffic system was not running smoothly.
