Mob violence claims one more life

KARACHI: A robber, who was set on fire in the Korangi area of Karachi Wednesday night, succumbed to his injuries and died earlier today (Thursday).

The deceased was accompanied by three other robbers who were also injured when they were set on fire after being caught by the public in the Korangi No. 5 area.

The robber who died from his injuries was in police custody at the time of his death.

This is the latest in a series of incidents of mob violence that have been witnessed all around the country.

The most recent was the Sialkot lynching case where two brothers, who were alleged of being thieves, were beaten to death by an angry mob.

Two years ago, in May 2008, five robbers were burnt alive in Karachi over a period of one week.

SA | 14 years ago | Reply Never in Islam has a robber been declared wajib-ul-qatl wonder why do we have to drag it everywhere... I completely agree with Angelos here its our police and judiciary. First the politicians, then the police, media to follow and last but not the least judicial system. These are the reasons behind such incidents.
