According to 18 year-old Bushra, already-married producer Shaukat entered her house last night and threw acid on her when she refused to marry him.
"A man climbed the wall of our house in the early hours, threw acid on my sister and fled," Bushra's brother, Pervez Khan told AFP.
A local police official, Sultan Khan also confirmed the incident.
The teen was immediately taken to Lady Reading Hospital in Peshawar where Dr Suhail Ahmad said she had suffered 33 percent burn injuries, on her face and shoulder, but was in a stable condition.
Her brother Pervez Khan has lodged a complaint against the local TV drama producer, Shaukat Khan.
Actor Bushra is known to star in local Pashto dramas and stage performances.
Popular Pakistani singer Ghazala Javed, 24, was shot dead by gunmen as she left a beauty salon in Peshawar last year over a dispute with her ex-husband.
Acid attacks are common in Pakistan with scores of such assaults taking place each year.

@ Haris chaudhry - as female pukhtana mashAllah none of my male relatives have ever treated in the manner you have stated so before you go and make a broad generalisation on a whole community - think first.
What happened to bushra is not good, but if you work in an industry of daman that is the sort of people you will come across.
The type of place you sit that is the type of people you will mix with, maybe we should all think of that and then incidents like this would not happen, why was Bushra's family not protecting her and putting her in situation where she can meet filthy characters like this same with ghazala javed. Truth is, in these cases both the men and women are from indecent backgrounds so they behave indecently with each other and do stupid things like this.
Lets focus on real people, whose real stories need to be told. Not daman bazari khalaq.
@ Haris Chaudhrt: "as ‘unwanted’ sex compared to a male at birth". Not any more. The male to female ratio is increasing and is now at 110 men to 100 women, and probably much higher than this among Pakhtuns. A time will come when female children will be more valued than males, if not already.
@Sodomite: next time when someone put a gun on your neck asking your to divorce her so that he can marry her. you better say YES. Sorry Mr. you are advocating to surrender before the coercion..
@Water Bottle: She could have said "Yes" and this would not have happened.
@Noman Ansari:
Are you expecting them to open Hogwarts in KP?
Well, they did wield the Balla like a wand. And chanted some powerful spells too.
People do get confused.
Plz change the word ACTOR with ACTRESS...
How does this come on PTI?
Plz replace the word "ACTOR" with 'ACTRESS'...As she is female NOT a male...!!
In a land where women are considered a 'tool' to men's disposal and pleasure, as a 'treasure' to hide and protect, as 'unworthy object' incapable of casting her vote, as a 'badge of honour' only to be killed in the name of honour, as 'subservient and inferior' to males, as 'unwanted' sex compared to a male at birth, as a liability until she gets married, these behaviors will continue.
We are a tribal and obsolete society living in stone ages. What our males do to these women represents the sick mentality of our broken centuries old tribal system.
show us bushra picture who is she?
@Farhan first change your own mindset..... then talk about others... We are all sick.
cm kpk arrest him immediately
I wonder what would the reaction be of 'Naya Pakistan' chanters if someone proposed to Jemima and on her refusal sprayed acid on her face. Priorities and importance matter if its something personal.
Whatever we do blame it on PTI
Should be sentenced to life in prison.
@Farhan:
What did you expect? Did you think people change because government changes? People will remain the same.
"Naya Pakistan" was just an election ploy. We will have to wait another 3 years before it starts all over again. At least the political parties must come out and condemn such acts vigorously. Such acts has no place in Pakistani society.
What is it with you people? How is this PTI's fault? They are politicians, not wizards. Are you expecting them to open Hogwarts in KP?
Still waiting for Naya Pakistan to show it's magic. Or has it already arrived.
