ATTOCK: The All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA), Attock chapter, held a protest rally here on Wednesday against the ‘meagre increase’ in salaries in the current budget. The participants of the rally, led by APCA Attock Chapter President Sardar Mumtaz Khan, were holding placards and banners inscribed with slogans demanding substantial increase in their salaries and relief from inflation. They raised slogans against the government and its economic policies. Speaking on the occasion, Mumtaz Khan lashed out at the extravagant lifestyle of the rulers saying that the common man finds it hard to make both ends meets with each passing day due to the ‘anti-people’ economic policies. He said that in the light of the spiralling inflation, government employees should be given 50 per cent raise in their salaries. The rally after passing through the main bazaar ended at the Katchery Chowk peacefully.
