“Everyone just kept coming up to me off the street. I’d be at the gym or I’d be getting on a train and they’d say, ‘Gosh, you look like Kate Middleton,’” Douglas said in a BBC interview. “And I thought I’d have to make something of it.”
“It is so much fun being Kate’s look-alike and people are so nice and friendly to me all the time. But getting mobbed is quite bizarre and is like a snapshot of being a celebrity,” Douglas told the Daily Mail.
The celebrity impersonator says she has always loved the royal family and went to Garter ceremonies when she was younger. She even had a brief run in with her look-alike’s husband once, when the 14-year-old Prince William held the door for her at Eton College.
