Gas reserves of 39 million cubic feet have been discovered and according to initial estimates, 106.8 million cubic feet natural gas would be produced, Geo News reported. Around 70% of the country’s total gas reserves are located in Sindh.
This exploration well was spud on February 17, 2013 and reached the final depth of 3,550 meters on May 21, 2013. Based on wire line logs several hydrocarbon bearing zones were identified which are under testing.
In addition to above, remaining potential zones would also be tested and the actual total flow potential of this well will be determined after completion of all the tests. This discovery will add more hydrocarbon reserves and also reduce the gap between supply and demand of oil and gas during current energy crises in the country.

leave this resource for the sindhis.. we need this resource for us, not to be exploited by other provinces. I feel like PML will shift the gas output towards punjab..
With this much gas reserve they can only lit a chimney on the top.
Lot of Gas in Sind.............
@Syed A. Mateen:
We should leave this gas field for our children Mateen Bhai. Even after producing 71% of Pakistan's gas and GDP our province has to still face load shedding.
PPP, MQM and PML-F should fight together for the rights of our beloved province as this is our land and our children will grow up here.
39MCF means if the well produces 1MCF/d which is very low the gas reserve will finish in 39 days. not good!!!!
106.8 million cubic feet is a puny reserve. For comparison, Sui field still has some 2 trillion cubic feet of gas reserves left.
@Tahir: Yeah how can you produce 106.8 MCFT from a reserve thats total capacity is just 39 MCFT
@ Legend . As opposed to your Western masters
While Sind produces 70 percent gas, it gets only 20 percent and faces electricity and shortage and gas shortage. the rest goes to Punjab
I think that now there will no no shortage of Gas and it will be available in abundance at all CNG Stations.
Sindh also have reserve of Coal. The day coal is discovered, we should not be having any shortage of electricity in the entire Sindh.
When Coal will be discovered, diamonds will also be discovered at the same time.
There is something wrong with the math here. Total reserves of 39 million cubic feet with a production capacity of 106.8 cubic feet?
1st two lines do not make sense.. Gas reserve=39 MCF Gas production=106.8 MCF, something wrong or missing..
Now quick, hand these over to our Chinese colonial masters
