KARACHI:

Three security personnel of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) were wounded in a low-intensity explosion that took place outside PAF Base Faisal near Karsaz on Shahrah-e-Faisal on Sunday.

The explosion caused panic and fear, and a heavy contingent of law enforcement personnel, including Rangers and police, reached the site and cordoned off the area. PAF officials also reached the location and inspected the blast site.

The bomb disposal squad reached the site as well. Though the nature of the blast has yet to be determined, BDS officials said the explosion was carried out using a locally made cracker.

Initial investigations, according to the Shahrah-e-Faisal SHO Arshad Janjua, suggest that the attackers were throwing crackers which injured the three PAF personnel.

Despite repeated attempts, the PAF spokesperson could not be reached for comments.
