Embassies say Pakistan passports without lamination unacceptable

The decision has left affected people with no choice but to apply for a new passport once again.

ISLAMABAD: The Interior ministry had extended the expiration date of old passports by issuing them with stamps instead of using lamination papers, a method that is now being rejected by foreign embassies,  Express News reported.

Embassies, rejected passports without lamination saying that the stamped passport will not be considered, Express News reported.

The decision has left the affected people with no choice but to apply for a new passport once again.

The delay in the renewal and issuance of passports because of the shortage of lamination papers has created problems for people looking to travel to other countries.

The decision of issuing old passports with stamps instead of having them laminated is being attributed to former interior minister Rehman Malik.
