LAHORE:

The Punjab University Syndicate on Saturday condemned the terrorist attack on Quaid-i-Azam’s residence in Ziarat.

Vice Chancellor Mujahid Kamran also expressed his sorrow over an attack on a bus carrying students and the bomb blast at a hospital in Quetta on Saturday.

He said the whole nation was with the Baloch. Mujahid said the purpose of such attacks in Balochistan was to increase the new government’s problems and to destroy peace.

Kamran said the Quaid-i-Azam lived in the hearts of 180 million people of Pakistan and terrorists could not do anything to change that.

Earlier, Kamran presided over the 1,699th meeting of the Syndicate at the Committee Room. Justice Mazahar Ali Naqvi, representing the Lahore High Court chief justice attended the meeting.

The meeting approved Finance Planning Committee’s proceedings, a service structure for librarians and nominations of chairmen of some departments. The meeting also approved all the anticipatory orders of the vice chancellor.

@jahangir khan: Sarcasm aside who sacrificed his own mandate and gave nationalist right of govern in Baluchistan after 40 years? Who was the only leader who carried credibility before bugtis, mengals and other baluch leaders?

well, these people in the punjab univ are no different from thr elitist minded land lords as civil and military byreaucrats. for all of them, baluchistan and its people don't matter and they are blinded by their mindsets to the real causes of the insurgency in the province. they still live in a mindset that zealously 'condemns' the destruction of jinnah's house in ziarat but merely expresses 'sorrow' over the killings of baluchis. what a pity! with this mind set, they shall never understand how deeply they are a part of the problem, and a hurdle on the path oto solution.
