LAHORE:
Additional District and Sessions Judge Chaudhry Ghulam Murtaza summoned eight prosecution witnesses, through non-bailable arrest warrants, in a jail hearing of a blasphemy case against Sawan Masih. The accusation provoked the Joseph Colony arson and rioting. The judge also directed the Badami Bagh Station House Officer to appear before the court with the witnesses on each date. Otherwise, action would be initiated against him, the judge said. In the previous proceedings, the judge framed charges against the accused and summoned the prosecution witnesses, but they did not turn up.
