PESHAWAR: Police officials on Friday successfully averted a threat by having a ten kilogram remote controlled explosive defused in Kishan Garh, Mattani.

The explosive device, planted by the roadside, was aimed at causing damage to the paramilitary forces who were also present in the area.

The device upon being spotted was defused by the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) who reached the site immediately.

"It was a powerful device which was planted either to hurt the police or the paramilitary forces," explained a police official, while talking to The Express Tribune.
