BAHAWALPUR: “Bahawalpur’s Hindu community is facing serious problems. Our temples are in bad shape and the educated Hindu youths have been limited to petty jobs,” said Sardar Mohan Laal, a Jamaat-i-Islami minority wing leader.

Talking to the media, Laal said the Hindu community in Bahawalpur was patriotic. He said newly elected MNA Baligur Rehman and MPA Syed Wasim Akhtar had assured them before the election that the community would be looked after. “We hope that they will fulfill their promise…Our temples will collapse if they are not restored soon,” he said. Laal was accompanied by Pardeep Jay, the minority wing’s president.
