Reserved seats: Petition challenges reserved seats law

Petition says that the nomination of women and minority members on reserved seats are unconstitutional.

LAHORE: Justice Ijazul Ahsan of the Lahore High Court on Wednesday issued notices to heads of major political parties and the election commission on a petition by Advocate Tariq Azizi challenging the provision for reserved seats for women and minorities. The petition said that the nomination of women and minority members on reserved seats in assemblies and election through proportionate representation were unconstitutional under Article 226 of the Constitution which states that all elections shall be held by secret ballot.

A new pandora box is about to be opened.

Politicians and Lawyers do not allow the government to think about the masses and do some good job for the general public.

What will happen if the court may give ruling against the reserved seats for women and minorities?

The country will go into another political crises.
