The comments come after Pakistan on Tuesday accused Indian jets of briefly violating its airspace, days after India said one of its soldiers had allegedly been killed by Pakistani troops.
An agreement between the rival South Asian neighbours bans their military aircraft from flying within 10 kilometres (six miles) of each other's airspace or initiate cross-border intrusions.
The jets were taking part in a routine mission along the India-Pakistan border on Tuesday when the incident occurred, Indian Air Force (IAF) spokesperson Priya Joshi said.
Pakistan's foreign ministry said in a statement on Tuesday that it had "conveyed serious concern to the Indian High Commission (embassy) over the airspace violation" over its eastern province of Punjab.
Pakistan airforce had scrambled two fighter jets after the border crossing by two Indian planes.
"It is clarified that IAF aircraft which were on a routine flying training sortie seem to have flown close to the border and it appears to be a technical violation," Joshi said in a statement to AFP.
She said the incident has been "conveyed to the Pakistan authorities".
India accused Pakistan last week of fomenting militancy in the Indian state of Punjab and killing a soldier in cross-border firing. Pakistan rejected both allegations.
The nuclear-armed states have fought three wars, two of them over the disputed Himalayan region of Kashmir. Each administers part of the territory but claims it in full.
Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif took office last week, promising to pursue good relations with India and resolve outstanding disputes such as Kashmir.

@Gulshanrai Sharma: " ... Had there not been partion,IAF jets would have been flown today by our Pak brothers, not over Lahore, but over Isreal to help our Palestine brothers &sisters. ... "
If you must pretend, get your "ours" and "theirs" correctly. Besides, if Indians were forced to choose "brothers", it would be Israelis not Palestinians.
@Vectra: Really? If that was the case why did your aircrafts run away? Simple because as always they didnt have the guts to fight. PAF has always been outnumbered 3:1 and has always kicked IAF posterior and will do so in future.
@sam: Sorry you will have to wait until your pilots learn to read maps or are able to punch in the right coordinates!!
@Indian Patriot: Provided your pilots can find the correct way !! I hope they dont end up in Japan next time.
We were telling "White Horse" will conquer Dehli for last 7 years but India Sent "White Jet" to Pakistan and We were still scrambling our Jet pilot. Neverthless we will try again and again and again until we does not make Indian the size of Srilanka. Hum Kabhi haar nahi manenge.
As PAF declares themselves as "defenders of the Pakistan airspace" on posters all over recruiting centers in Pakistan then they should do the job or remove POSTERS.
Sad to see the comments of both Pakistanis and Indians...
just tell me one thing what will we acheive thorugh war, both are nuclear states, in the end one will fire a nuke, other will respond and the population will die. Our countries will go back 100 years and then we start from scratch.
@Syed A. Mateen: Why wasn't it shot down? Pakistan Military has demonstrated that it does not have anti-aircaft weaponry to guard their borders. I would retire all the military employed for civil duties to finance the automatic ground to air defence system to prevent technical violations of the enemy.
Let no one blame the newly elected Prime Minister, if he places his econiliation plans with India in the back seat.

Techncal violation? Indian education institutions definitely requires radical reforms. The good Indian politicians and the military brass should learn.that all invasive intrusions by military naturaly commit a technical violation before undertaking their mission of espionage or testing the reaction alertness of the enemy or whatever. Mission completed is the inscription on the pilots log books, I speculate..

@Asif Khushhal There is nothing in PAF inventory that have the guts to down IAF.You can only give tall claims but can do nothing
@Asif Butt of course we also want you to play of course of course thats what you are doing for the past 65 years and as far as whatever India says is concerned then India dont like saying much as it doesn't believe in words it only believes in action and what action that entire world knows you can ignore as usual you always do
@Vectra: If one knows about aerial photography then they should also know a thing as thermal imaging. An aircraft which flies close to the border can 'picture' things 100 + miles in enemy territory. It is very much possible that they came in on 'shoot the picture and run' mission. These aircrafts seems to have come from Ambala or Gowaliar, had they got airborne from Amritsar than PAF radars would have tracked them. Pakistanio, have trust and faith in PAF 'Falcons'.
Preposterous allegations! Indian air crafts are made for 'no-mistake.' Indigenous-made with state-of-the-art technology and advanced expertise leave no room for mistakes.
Indian Air Force should not come even an inch into Pakistan's Airspace, otherwise, its jets will be shot down either by a missile or by Pakistan Air Force Pilots.
No more lame excuses, please.
Our falcons will give a warm wel come to indian jets if they violated air rules again... So, india be careful next time bcoz we don't forgive anyone else again.
@Punjabi Gujjar - We were in Lahore in 65. if we wanted again we could have done it in 71 & 99 too. We are trying to avoid such scene. But dont force us to come again.
Had there not been partion,IAF jets would have been flown today by our Pak brothers, not over Lahore, but over Isreal to help our Palestine brothers &sisters.
A polite and humble apology can indeed work wonders.
You are welcome again!!
@Indian Patriot: Please do come but " khushboo laga k aana" .
@Indian Patriot: we will fly over Kolkata after whole of India becomes Pakistan's territory in 2030...ha ha ha ...(sarcasm in response)
@waqas: Open your eyes. almost all the comments are from Indians.
IAF accepted the presence of issue, what else you want. They came in 7 kms for two minutes and left without any damage. Barely an intentional act.
@Indian Patriot: Waiting for that day dear, I am lahoree and will welcome you, you just plan to fly and see how warm Lahoree will welcome you.
@Vectra: You are the only one being over smart , thinking we dont know what you were doing.
But like ALWAYS , we will play along... of course of course , whatever India says ...
And now here are no comments from indians!
Astonishing?
This was exactly the observation made by me in my last post. Such technical errors can happen with world's best fighter pilots therefore this violation incident needs to be ignored and controversy laid to rest.
Indian are smart they have adopted diplomatic advantage if Pakistan made this violation Indian would have knocked UNO doors
pakistan should shoot down the jets next time.
A sorry would have done wonders but anyway it wasn't that big as we made it.
How sweet.
We will fly in Lahore once
