Public Health: Hospital short of 80 doctors for 3 years
Much of the Health Department budget is being spent on medical equipment rather than on doctors, says Dr Abbas.
LAHORE:
As many as 80 posts for senior doctors, associate professors, assistant professors and senior registrars have been vacant at the Children’s Hospital for three years, despite advertisements. Dr Nasir Abbas, of the Young Doctors Association (YDA) said that the vacancies could be attributed to low salaries offered. Much of the Health Department budget is being spent on medical equipment rather than on doctors, he said.
