Justice for Shahzeb

Letter June 12, 2013
It is time that all those who facilitated Shahrukh Jatoi’s escape to the UAE should also be brought to justice.

TOPEKA, KS, US: This is with reference to your editorial “Justice in Shahzeb’s case” (June 9). On principle, I do not agree with the notion of capital punishment but would like to see all those responsible for Shahzeb Khan’s murder to spend the rest of their lives behind bars without any parole so that they are constantly reminded of the brutal, cold-blooded murder they committed.

Above all, it is time that all those who facilitated Shahrukh Jatoi’s escape to the UAE should also be brought to justice. It is shameful for us Pakistanis living in other countries when the local press harps on how unlawful Pakistan has become.

On a positive note, it seems as if the judiciary is taking solid steps to improve the law and order situation in the country. Also, the efforts of the Pakistani press, of which this editorial is an example, are also much appreciated as they are playing a role in mending the country in a positive manner.
