Fire safety: High-rise buildings to be inspected
There are 554 commercial and industrial buildings in Faisalabad.
FAISALABAD:
District Coordination Officer (DCO) Najam Ahmad Shah ordered a survey of high rise buildings in the city to evaluate fire safety measures, electrical wiring and emergency exits, on Tuesday. Shah asked Faisalabad Development Authority, Housing and Physical Planning Authority and city government officials to complete the survey within a week and produce a report on measures to take to avoid fires. Shah also said that NGOs should launch awareness campaigns about fire safety and asked Rescue 1122 and Civil Defence officials to coordinate training sessions on basic safety measures for residents and workers in high-rise buildings. There are 554 commercial and industrial buildings in Faisalabad.
