The roads leading to the house of Pakistan’s Prime Minister need no beautification.
Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif issued directions on Monday to cancel a tender issued by Capital Development Authority (CDA) for beautification of roads leading to the Prime Minister’s House, according to a statement issued by the Prime Minister (PM) Secretariat.
The tender was issued during the previous government for “Improvement of PM House Route and Surroundings,” according to the tender notice issued by the CDA.
CDA spokesperson Malik Saleem said the tender was cancelled immediately after instructions were received from the PM’s office.
He said that the tender was for seasonal beautification of the route to Prime Minister’s house, which involves regular work such as change of grass on the median and seasonal upkeep of the flower beds.
“It is a routine tender and it is in no way linked with the new prime minister assuming office,” Saleem said.
The tender was first issued in April during the caretakers, he said, but due to “some reasons,” it was going to be re-opened on June 19. Saleem did not give an exact reason for the re-tendering.
According to the CDA tender notice, the estimated cost of the beautification tender was Rs1.96 million.
The release stated that Sharif’s decision was “in view of his government’s policy of judicious use of public resources.”

I cannot understand how this work has an estimated cost of less than 2 million. Just not possible. something really fishy with this piece.
Once again the PTI trolls have to bite the dust!
@Baby ka Husband:
give it a couple months. the man will be planting these flowers inside his new mansion in london.
Good decision.........But PM should not be involved in taking such minor decisions, these kind of decisions should be taken by relevant authorities in the light of broader Govt. Agenda.
If PM is making minor decisions like these than he is definitely wasting time in office as PM.
Good decision by Nawaz Sharif! Hope that PML-N government will try to cut short the expenses on non development projects and will spend more on development projects for the betterment of Pakistani nation.
Cancelling a tender worth Rs. 1.9 million and projecting that as an austerity measure across media , while multi billion tenders would continue with no direct influence on improving lives of a common Pakistani. PML-N we need sth better from you.
And PTI thank you for atleast getting these goons to work , they also know that if they dont deliver they will be wiped out in next elections. ! Well done
@FACT: Bro, oppisition doesn't mean that PTI has to make a comment on every little thing. PMLN know that if they start wasting money, etc - they are going to get exposed in parliment and talk shows. That is why they are being careful. The oppisition is already in thier heads and this is being shown in thier actions.
And this is proper oppisition. Get the govt to act like thier every move is being scrutinised. Something PMLN were unable to do in last govt, and let PPP get away with anything and everything.
must appericiated good work and words
@FACT: You my friend obviously don't understand the meaning of the word opposition. You must be a PML-N supporter.
@salman: Where is that PTI opposition. Are you referring to Hasmi saying PM NS as his leader.!!!!!!!!
Mr. PM, your words are UTTERLY meaningless. If you are serious, kindly start by: 1) reducing expenses at Raiwind palace, 2) pay your taxes (in full), 3) pay all outstanding utility bills (personal/business – Ittefaq e.g.), 4) re-pay all bank loans, 5) get rid of your 2,000 person security protocol, 6) make your party members/followers do the same, …and then talk. Thank you.
spending on beautification of roads is not waste of money.. it can be achieved with minimum spending.. just put the green belts on each road and those routes will become beautiful automatically.
I am not a supporter of PMLn because their leaders, despite being the richest in Pakistan, pay peanuts as income tax. No country can survive without it's elite paying it's due income taxes. Nevertheless, it is a good decision not to waste money on PM house.
This is what happeneds when you have real opposition. Well done pti...keep the pressure on. Our rulers, in all provinces, must account for every rupee they are responsible for.
its surprising how people react without bothering to find facts first...this tendered was routinely issued by previous govt but no one ever took notice n somehow people on social media have managed to link this tender with just sworn in pm nawaz sharif...niw he cancels the mess of previous govt..tight slap on face of self proclaimed critics..
NS has kept my head high so far, proud to be a PML-N supporter! May Allah guide you to the shining Pakistan! Amin!
Well done, Mian Sahib.
It is time to build the country in a proper way.
May Al-Mighty Allah Bless You.
AMEEN.
For how long Mian sahib, for how long???
