According to the draft of resolution submitted by PTI spokesperson, Shireen Mazari, drone strikes have killed more innocent Pakistanis than the militants themselves.
The draft stated that the drone strikes carried out by the American Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and now by the Pentagon were in direct violation of the sovereignty of Pakistan.
It said that drones do not provide the suspects a chance to surrender and the strikes are conducted without affirming the identity of the suspect.
Many drone strikes have targeted rescue workers that come to the site of the drone attack, it argued.
The resolution called on the Government of Pakistan to take immediate steps to put an end to the drone attacks, including asking US to end drone strikes, taking diplomatic and, if need be, military measures to respond firmly to such an attack.
Furthermore, it said that that the government should remember the judgement of the Peshawar High Court on April 2013 where the Court decided that under Pakistan's Constitution, the drone strikes carried out in FATA were a blatant violation of basic human rights, the UN Charter, UN General Assembly Resolution, provisions of Geneva Convention and are regarded as a war crime.
It maintained that in view of the established facts and figures with respect to civilian casualties and damaged, the US government is bound to compensate the victims' families.
The resolution filed by PTI hoped that the government of Pakistan would protect the sovereignty of Pakistan, the International Law and enforce the judgement of the Peshawar High Court as soon as possible.

Resolution against drone strikes was also passed by previous assembly. I don't think it can resolve the matter. This time make sure that after passing the resolution , you get the Air Force in action.
Much the best, excellent and august step taken by PTI and by voting on this resolution presented by PTI thus now this shall be proven and shown that how many parliamentarians are against and how many parliamentarians are in favor of drones' strikes and here the most important question rises,id est,who will implement the resolution if passed by the vast majority and who will coerce US to stop drones' strikes? In other words by this resolution there shall be the test of sincerity and honesty of the parliamentarians with Pakistan and Pakistan's sovereignty.......
PTI is now the laughing stock of Pakistan......
As long as Ruling elites in Islam Abad are safe they don't care about the far away areas of FATA. Several unanimous resolutions have passed in the past. NOTHING will happen; rulers in Islam Abad and Rawalpindi will enjoy their lives and only FATA people will suffer.
For people asking about NATO supplies. What's the point of stopping NATO supplies that are leaving the country? Something else needs to be thought of.
@Rex Minor: "so called NATO "
"so called NATO"? Just like you are an "unbiased German with no roots in Waziristan"?
@Mirza: "@Gp65: Our concern for TTP’s deaths is more than our own innocent citizens because we love our strategic assets! The truth has to come out someday! Regards, M"
Minor correction : TTP WERE strategic assets but are now out of favor of the establishment. Hence the current strategic assets of establishment i.e. LeT and Ansarul Islam are planning to attack TTP. http://tribune.com.pk/story/560880/mohmand-agency-ttp-accuses-rival-groups-of-plotting-attacks-on-its-bases/ . Pls. note even though Ansarul Islam is a banned group (it was fighting on behalf of the army and against TTP in the fight for Tirah valley a couple of months back. http://tribune.com.pk/story/560880/mohmand-agency-ttp-accuses-rival-groups-of-plotting-attacks-on-its-bases/
Of course TTP continues to have its sympathizers among major political parties - the same parties who were spared by TTP in the run up to the elections. Cheers.
From which airbase are these drones taking off and returning back to? I doubt it all drones are taking off from air bases in Afghanistan and returning back to these bases. Let IK reveal the truth.
Lets see, "Drone Strikes...killed over 3000 civilians in the country since 2004",, Hmmm, it would appear that, according to the PTI, the definition of "civilian" ALSO includes Taliban commanders, al Qaeda types, along with any local and FOREIGN militants (All armed to the teeth with an assortment of AK-47s, Rocket Propelled Grenades, Suicide Vests, Heavy Machine guns, Mortars, IEDs and such)!! By this Logic, You might suspect that the Brave TTP fighter that shot an unarmed MALALA in the face was a "civilian" (also innocent?) according to the PTI!! By the way, please see how many times the PTI types have used the words "terrorist" and "TTP" in the same sentence over the years!!
@Kamran
Perhaps the Government should tell its citizens that the major part of the road from the border is in the tribal region and controlled by the Talibans! Why bother if the Talibans can do the job and stop the lethal equipment leaving Afghanistan!! Besides, Nwaz Shareef did say before the election that he would facilitate NATO withrawl! This I guess is his trump card to play against the Drones. In any case the Afghan authorities and the Talibansagree that the so called NATO not be allowed the special equipment out of Afghanistan!!

@Gp65: Our concern for TTP's deaths is more than our own innocent citizens because we love our strategic assets! The truth has to come out someday! Regards, M
@bari: And what exactly have they started? Oh yeah! They've rephrased the multiple resolutions already passed against drones by the different assemblies of this country. PTI is all hot air. Taking impotent steps like resolutions do not change anything. It's about time they showed some courage and honor the tall claims they made on the campaign trail. As one of the participants suggested above, a good 1st step would be to stop NATO supplies passing through KPK. Do something other than just yapping away if you're truly sincere.
I supported PTI but they are disappointing me by the minute! If they are ao serious about Drones, why not start by stopping the NATO supply that runs through KP? They are just being irritatiting now! Have to say this..
PTI has taken a step, which I think is not appropriate, the drones are illegal, and violation of international law, that drone should have been shot down, or at least there should be a warning that today onward any drone found violating the international law and entering in our air space will be shot down, but how about ISLAMABAD they do not see this as wrong or they are scared that if we interfere with Master USA, our sovereignty in Islamabad will get into danger? or they do not consider this as against the sovereignty as long as they have hope of some $$$, under the supervision of Mr.Zardari, if not why Imran Khan raising voice against this inceident, does Waziristan or surrounding areas not fall into the jurisdiction of NAWAZ SHARIF or ASIF ZARDARI? I request please treat Pakistani's same, these are the irresponsible actions of the Governments due to which 1971 happened, these are the actions due to which some people have said 1971 situation is repeating in Sindh/Karachi, please take responsibilities and remember is not only to be implemented by the Judiciary, Justice is something it should be seen in every action of the leaders of the nation, they must feel pain of each and every citizen, not just their province or city and this is the only practical way of showing you care for Pakistan.
@Mirza: In addition to what you say, as though the people who die in markets, mosques, buses, schools and playgrounds are given a chance to save their lives? Why should the concern only be for TTP who have chosen combat and not for the non-combatant civilians?
Yes if you dont give your ministries to your ltd company's relatives, you have to face such problems.
any way they are at least started some thing on ground not like our PM who is carrying his darling Musharraf's policies of give oral births ;)
you have to go step by step not directly striking nukes.
Nawaz Sharif will not allow to stop drone attacks in Pakistan.
Oh PTI, please could you first block the NATO supply route? Do you need a resolution on that?
With 3,000 civilians dead you would think you would see lots of pictures of these innocents and the carnage - or at least the names of these innocents. The reality is that you never see pictures, never read names. You take the 3,000 dead civilians as fact - based solely on two reports written by anti war individuals/organizations that have never step foot in either Waziristan.
"It said that drones do not provide the suspects a chance to surrender and the strikes are conducted without affirming the identity of the suspect".
Oh don't they let every one they are blowing up in mosque and school a chance to surrender their prayers and basic right to education. More disappointed with PTI, every passing of the minute. Shouldn't IK swing the drones with his bat?
Yes the Talibans are now innocent civilians.
Parliament has already passed multiple resolutions against drone strikes. What's new here?
Enough of this seriously. Although drones are totally wrong and should be stopped, why is it that only Waziristan and border areas suffer from drone attacks and not Abbotabad or Lahore or even Peshawer!!! We have too any problems especially the electricity crisis!
The proposed resolution said "that drones do not provide the suspects a chance to surrender" These extremist killers have a chance for more than a decade to surrender. However, they are waging a jihad against Pakistani population and state and would rather blow themselves up than surrender. How could anyboy talk about a chance to surrender by these suicide bombers? They always have a chance to come out and surrender to Pakistani forces instead of beheading them.
PTI please first make a single file line of your ministers in KPK
