FAISALABAD: The police on Sunday registered separate cases against five prayer leaders (religious scholars) from different parts of Faisalabad on the charge of violating the ban imposed on the illegal use of loudspeakers. The ban was imposed under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) about two months ago under which all the religious scholars were strictly prohibited not to use loudspeakers other than for the Azaan or the Khutba. The prayer leaders were reported to have violated the ban. The police registered separate cases against them and have started looking for the five accused. Among the five accused were Qari Tariq Imran of Chak 273-RB, Maulana Abdullah Ali, Qari Zubair Ahmad, Maulana Akram Husain and Allama Naveed Akhtar of Chak274-GB.
