MANSEHRA: Hundreds of villagers from Shergarh and its adjoining areas have threatened protests if the Public Health Engineering Department fails to restore water supply.

People said more than 3,000 residents living in Shergarh and its surroundings get their water through a tube well, but the machine broke 15 days ago and has not been fixed yet. Despite repeated requests, the concerned department failed to repair it, especially at a time when people face the hottest days of the year.

“Local politicians and influential personalities have failed to address our problems,” said Taimoor Tanoli, a resident of Shergarh. Tube well operator Nawaz said the matter has been brought to the notice of his superiors and the faulty machine will be replaced within a couple of days.
