Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak has said the allocations for the chief minister’s secretariat will be slashed by 80% in the budget for 2013/14 to adopt austerity in the real sense.
Khattak was talking to media after holding a meeting with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chief Imran Khan.
He said that his cabinet would be according to the constitution which allows 15 provincial ministers and five advisers.
“There would be no flag on minister’s vehicles, no protocol, police security and no overspending. We believe in Allah and have no fear of any security threat. The Almighty will guard us.”
On drone attacks, Khattak said the K-P government would stand with the federal government if it announced it would stop drones.

KP, good job guys...keep moving in the right direction and people will be with you.
plz do 4 our great kpk some thing and plz stand against drone attack plzzzzzzzzzzz
For your information, PTI lawmakers have already started mobilizing the community (civil society and government officials) for change. You will feel the difference in the time to come.
Mr.Khattak,You are moving in the right direction. This will also give an idea as how much tax payers money was being wasted by successive governments. Will our PM & CM of Punjab take a leaf out of KPK?
It seems like I have stepped on the tails of PTI brigade.
A good move indeed, carry on PK! P.S:This news is supposed to be from Peshawar, why is it being released from Lahore? Oh my bad, zaman park....sorry guys. ;)
@ Reality Check, maybe ts time you stop trying to make people believe in the in efficiency of PTI. they have "done" and taken actual steps towards better and yes "changed" KP.
It should be a "reality check" for all those who stand to oppose PTI. and comment materially
Stop talking. Please take some concrete steps. We are still waiting the CM house to be turn into library.
And tell me again? which assembly lost most of its members to terrorism... Khattak's messages to the assembly people: "Government doesn't have the money to provide you with security, so contact the taliban to make sure you don't get killed."
Agreeing with no protocol, and smaller cars... security must not be compromised... because that would make lawmakers at risk from the Taliban... which would clearly compromise there ability to rule according to the wishes and the interests of the people rather than Taliban!
I so wish Asad Qasier should have been selected as CM! He might not have made such stupid decisions!!!!
@Reality Check: If these 'Gimmicks' can save my country even a few millions, I am more than happy to support them. The sadists may meanwhile burn :)
PTI believes only in gimmicks, they have no substance.
Happy to note that while there may be differences of opinion on ideologies, KP administration by PTI and Central Administration by PML-N are on the same page when it comes to the "needs of the hour in the country". Really happy to note. My best wishes to all for a faster turn around of economy, better infrastructure especially energy and water, developing a more scientifically oriented society. Good luck.
