
An additional sessions judge (ASJ) has awarded the death sentence to Rao Ishtiaq Khurshid for committing murder.
According to the judgment, the court has also fined Khurshid Rs200,000.
Munib Akram was shot dead by Khurshid some time ago and the FIR for the case was registered at Waris Khan Police Station.
After hearing the arguments of Malik Zahir Arshad, who appeared on behalf of the deceased, ASJ Kalim Khan found Khurshid guilty.
In a separate hearing, Control of Narcotics Substance Court Judge Arshad Mehmood Tabbasum gave four years’ imprisonment to a smuggler and fined him Rs100,000, whereas he dropped the charges against another accused due to lack of evidence.
The judge awarded four years’ imprisonment to Javed and ordered the release of Kifayatullah in the case of recovery of 1,100 grams of heroin by the Anti-Narcotics Force that took place last year.
